Colorado’s Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) recognized Christopher Colwell, MD, with the Meritorious Service Award for his long history of service to the ACEP.
The Meritorious Service Award is meant to recognize achievements that have enhanced Colorado’s healthcare system and the profession of emergency medicine. Created in 2009, the award recognizes the significant achievements and dedication that Dr. Colwell has provided to emergency medicine. In addition to his role as Director of Denver Health’s Department of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Colwell has given countless EMS lectures, served as Chair of the Rocky Mountain Trauma and Emergency Medicine Conference, and has a continued commitment to EMS on a state and national level.
Dr. Colwell said, “Having dedicated my career to emergency medicine, I am honored to have received this award.”
The award was presented on January 20, 2016, at the Colorado ACEP Annual Meeting in Denver.
