Denver Health Director of Surgical Research Receives Highest Honor
Denver Health is proud to announce that the American Surgical Association (ASA) has just awarded Director of Surgical Research Dr. Ernest E. "Gene" Moore its prestigious Medallion for Scientific Achievement. Dr. Moore accepted the award during the ASA's 139th annual meeting this week in Dallas, Texas.

The Medallion for Scientific Achievement is the ASA's highest honor, given periodically to a surgeon who has served in their field with unusual distinction. See a list of previous recipients.

Last year, Denver Health's Level One Trauma Center was dedicated and renamed as the Ernest E. Moore Shock Trauma Center at Denver Health. Under Dr. Moore's leadership, Denver Health pioneered the state's first Level One Trauma Center, with an expert team that is proud of its 98 percent survival rate for the worst types of injuries.
