Denver Health is proud to announce our designation as Denver's only Orthopedic Center of Excellence. Global health care accreditation agency DNV officially certified Denver Health Orthopedics last week, after a rigorous review process and evaluation of our operations and patient care. This new title shows that Denver Health is excellent in providing Orthopedic care – before, during and after surgery.
"Becoming an orthopedic surgery center of excellence in Colorado means not only achieving the highest standards of quality and safety but also embodying a transformative vision for patient care," said Cyril Mauffrey, MD, chair, Denver Health Orthopedics. "It reflects our commitment to innovation, precision, and compassionate healing, where each procedure is guided by expertise and driven by the goal of restoring mobility and enhancing lives. The DNV Orthopedic Center of Excellence designation comes after achieving advanced certification in at least three advanced orthopedic programs. Our certification comes in the areas of Advanced Shoulder Surgery, Advanced Hip and Knee Replacement and Advanced Foot and Ankle Surgery. It shows that we are recognized leaders in the safe delivery of all aspects of orthopedic care.
To earn this prestigious certification, Denver Health Orthopedics goes through annual reviews informed by the guidelines and recommendations of organizations such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the ERAS® Society, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and relevant requirements of the CMS Conditions of Participation for Hospitals.
