Our team answers the calls of the Denver community. Denver Health’s paramedic team is located right in the heart of Denver. Our emergency response includes emergency calls at Denver International Airport, Coors Field, Ball Arena and Empower Field at Mile High.
We answer more than 117,000 911 calls a year throughout the City and County of Denver, Englewood, Glendale, Sheridan and parts of unincorporated Arapahoe County.
In addition, we provide wildland fire emergency medical response throughout the region and beyond as needed.
Paramedic Job Duties
Paramedic jobs duties encompass significant responsibility. Paramedics guarantee that our patients get the care they need, wherever they are, when they need it. The paramedic also is responsible for transporting and transferring the patient to the proper place to continue care. The lifesaving actions of paramedics don’t stop there. They constantly communicate, maintain lifesaving equipment and supplies, and stay up to date on education and certifications to ensure the execution of appropriate emergency care.
Paramedic Career Requirements
EMT-P (Paramedics):
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License
- Currently Certified and or Licensed as a Paramedic in the State of Colorado
- High School Diploma or GED
- 21 years of age or older
EMT-B (Basics):
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License
- Currently Certified and or licensed as an EMT-Basic in the State of Colorado
- High School Diploma or GED
- 21 years of age or older
- Certified in IV Therapy (Intravenous Therapy)
