This video gives an updated overview of the Pharmacy Residency Programs at Denver Health, featuring interviews with program directors, pharmacists and current residents.

Thank you for expressing interest in our pharmacy residency programs. Denver Health is excited to offer five ASHP-accredited residency programs: PGY-1 Pharmacy, PGY-2 Emergency Medicine, PGY-2 Critical Care, PGY-2 Ambulatory Care, and PGY-2 Infectious Diseases.

Denver Health is a one-of-a-kind learning environment as one of the primary teaching hospitals in Colorado and is an academic Level 1 trauma center in Denver. These programs provide a wide variety of experiences designed to develop knowledge and expertise in integrated clinical pharmacy practice and medication stewardship, with a strong focus on leadership skills.

Denver Health is an integrated, efficient, high-quality health care system serving as a model for other safety net institutions across the nation. Denver Health is home to the Rocky Mountain Regional Level 1 trauma center, Level 2 pediatric trauma center, Denver Public Health, Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Information Center, and Denver Health Managed Care to name a few. Denver Health has also been designated by the Infectious Diseases Society of America as an Antimicrobial Stewardship Center of Excellence. Denver Health’s 9 federally qualified health centers are Level 3 National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) certified patient-centered medical homes and include the following services: primary care, clinical pharmacy, 340B pharmacies, dental health, behavioral health, social work, and addiction counseling. The Department of Pharmacy has academic affiliations with the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Regis University School of Pharmacy. The hospital has a computerized electronic health record and automated distribution system, centralized unit dose and IV medication preparation areas, and decentralized clinical staff pharmacists.

Denver Health values diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace. This is evident in our mission, the services provided to our community, and our approach to employee recruitment. The pharmacy residency programs at Denver Health share this value and seek to create an equitable recruitment process that focuses on a holistic review of applicants.
