About our course

Why Choose Denver Health Paramedics EMS Education - EMT Training Program?

The Denver Health Paramedic Division responds to more than 120,000 calls per year. Our EMT students get the opportunity to learn in a high-volume, fast paced urban setting, gaining practical experience unmatched by any other EMT program in Colorado. Riding along with the Denver Health Paramedic Division promises exposure to a wide variety of clinical situations. During the course, students receive approximately 150 hours of both didactic and skills training from paramedics who actively work in the field. In addition, EMT students have the opportunity to complete a shift in one of the busiest emergency departments in the region with both adult and pediatric trauma capabilities.

The Denver Health Paramedics EMT training program follows the National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards and is designed to teach students basic medical skills needed to respond in an emergency situation. Once completed you are eligible to test for the National Registry EMT Certification. Once NREMT certified you can apply for your Colorado State EMT Certification.

Our EMT Course

This course will provide the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) student the knowledge and skills required to provide appropriate emergency care and transportation of patients suffering from traumatic insult/injury and/or of medical nature.  Attendance and success of the EMT course requirements will qualify and prepare the learner to participate in the NREMT psychomotor final and sit for the NREMT online exam.
