Denver Health’s Digestive and Liver Health Team (Gastroenterology and Hepatology) runs under the direction of nationally recognized physician Dr. Joel Levine. In conjunction with a proactive team who committed to providing expert digestive and liver care, our gastroenterologists and hepatologists have trained at major institutions across the country and here in Colorado. They all hold faculty appointments at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, participating in the education of medical students and doctors-in-training at Denver Health, the University of Colorado Hospital and the Denver Veteran's Administration Hospital.
They have distinguished themselves as both outstanding clinicians and accomplished researchers in their individual areas of interest, performing the latest diagnostic testing in gastroenterology, and employ the most current techniques to treat many conditions, including ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease, hemorrhoids, constipation and hepatitis.
