Plan on 60 minutes for your first consult.  Follow up treatment sessions will last approximately 30-60 minutes. During the initial consult, an occupational therapist will do a formal evaluation of your condition, identify your deficits and in collaboration with you will establish your goals. Based on those goals, your therapist will provide a personalized plan of care which may include the use of therapeutic activities, therapeutic modalities (heat, ice, Ultrasound, TENS and infrared light therapy), splinting, scar management, desensitization, gross and fine motor activities and strengthening.

A home program will be developed that is specific to your needs. Depending on the needs of each patient, therapy sessions may be once or twice a week or less (once or twice a month) and can last several visits or several months. It is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the allowed number of visits for occupational therapy set by your health insurance plan.

Feel free to call our front desk at 303-602-1600 with any questions regarding outpatient occupational therapy services or if you have any insurance related questions.
