Payment Options

Denver Health Bariatric Surgery Center is offering patients several payment options:

  • Most commercial insurance covers bariatric surgery. Denver Health accepts Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, Denver Health Medical Plan, Elevate and United Healthcare. (If insurance does not cover your procedure and you have a BMI of 30-35 with diabetes, see cash option in bold below)
  • Medicaid and Medicare are accepted.
  • Cash/self-pay: patients can pay all at once or set up a schedule if they would like to pay over time (payment in full required before surgery date). Learn more about the self-pay schedule here.
  • Patients who have CICP may also receive assistance from Denver Health to help with the cost of bariatric surgery.

Your insurance coverage will be assessed prior to entering the program to confirm bariatric coverage and to assess the process to qualify for bariatric surgery as each insurance has its own requirements.
