Frequently Asked Questions

After you are registered and checked in by our front desk clerks, a medical assistant will bring you into the clinic, take your vital signs and seat you in a clinic room. The provider will then meet with you and describe the purpose of the visit, review how you are feeling, perform a physical examination as indicated and discuss test results, recommended additional tests if needed and discuss  management options for your diagnosis.

Bring your insurance card, co-pay, photo ID (driver’s license, etc.) and current medications or medication list, and any outside medical records which may be relevant.

In our clinic, we see people with both blood disorders and cancers. It is possible that your doctor sent you to see us for a blood condition that is entirely benign and not cancer. We will clarify this during your visit. Most of the times, people are informed of a cancer diagnosis before they come to our clinic.

There is a lot of information about cancer on the internet. Here are some reliable resources:

  • American Cancer Society
  • American Society of Clinical Oncology
  • Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
  • LIVESTRONG
