Program Highlights
Students in this program will benefit from the following:
- 6-month program of training and education free of charge.
- Full time, benefitted employment while in the program. Upon completion of this program, students are expected to pass the PTCB and become a certified and licensed technician and work for Denver Health for a minimum of 12 months, but we hope to have you around for a lot longer!
- During training, Denver Health will provide a provisional pharmacy technician license.
- 600 hours of education to include online learning and experiential rotations at a minimum of two pharmacy sites within the Denver Health system.
- Hands-on learning directly within the industry, providing the best possible learning opportunities for our students.

Admission Criteria
- Completion of program application
- Copy of high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Successful completion of DH affiliate criminal background check and drug screen
- Compliance with DH immunization requirements
- Passing scores for pre-enrollment Math and English competency assessment
- Availability of an open position at the time of application
- Candidates are selected based on above criteria and interview results

Program components and schedule
The curriculum for this program is divided into two educational modalities:
1. Didactic: A minimum of 160 hours
2. Experiential: A minimum of 340 hours
Total: 500 hours
160 hours of the didactic portion of the program is through Pharmacy Technicians University (PTU), an online, competency-based curriculum for training pharmacy technicians. During the experiential portion, students will have the opportunity to work in both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy settings.
