Intensive Care

Intensive & Critical Care

Denver Health has four critical care units to serve our patients. Each unit is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and a professional medical staff that is experienced in providing intensive care services for each patient.

Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
The MICU at Denver Health is a 24-bed unit staffed by a team of critical care doctors, nurses and therapists.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
The NICU is designed for full-term and premature newborns in need of intensive care services in a secure unit with large private and semi-private rooms. The NICU has a staff of experienced neonatologists and neonatology nurses.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
The PICU provides intensive care for children of all ages in a secure unit with all private rooms. The pediatric health care team consists of pediatricians, family physicians, surgeons, nurses and other specialists that are specially trained to care for children.

Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
The SICU at Denver Health is a highly specialized intensive care unit at Denver Health where the hospital's most critically ill patients recover from trauma injuries and emergency surgeries. The SICU is staffed by specially trained trauma nurses and trauma physicians.
