Denver Health is one of thirteen regional facilities in the United States designated as a Regional Emerging Special Pathogen Treatment Center and a member of the National Emerging Special Pathogens Training and Education Center (NETEC). NETEC is a national network of health care providers, hospitals and public health agencies that collaborate to identify the best clinical, logistical, and public health practices for identified and emerging special pathogens.
Denver Health & Hospital Authority (DHHA) was designated as a Regional Emerging Special Pathogens Treatment Center (RESPTC) in 2015 for the Department of Health & Human Services Region 8. The 6-state region includes Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Utah. In this role, Denver Health is proud to serve the region as a resource for training and education, technical assistance support, and as a definitive care site for patients infected with a special pathogen.
